We Have an Incredible Opportunity
As a Christian, do you realize you can talk to God beyond the reaches of space and He hears you? Even when your words are not audible to you? It is spirit communication – your spirit communicating with God. I once saw a chart that showed the universe and the earth’s relevance within it. In the vastness of space, the earth within our solar system was a tiny dot. And how large are we humans in our solar system? How large is a molecule? An atom? The grandeur of it all is breathtaking especially in contrast to our tiny existence.
God is in Charge and He Loves Us!
And yet, God, our Maker, values us. In His justice, He devised a plan to save us through His beloved Son to pay the penalty – the price – of all of our sins. Our Creator is the Master of love. Jesus is love personified. We are inclined to have it our way – to run our own lives – to ultimately rebel against God’s law and His sovereignty. But when Someone makes you and the universe you live in, doesn’t He have the right to set boundaries for your life?
God Wants us Near Him
The thing God wanted most was to spend time with us just as He did in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. For reasons I don’t understand, sin entered the world and broke that relationship and closeness. It would be a long arduous journey through history of choosing and shaping the Jewish nation and then having the Messiah enter earth to fulfill God the Father’s purpose. But it was promised from the very beginning to give mankind hope.
He’s Waiting to Hear
Your Maker and Redeemer are waiting to hear from you! God is not only far away in the reaches of space, Jesus lives in our hearts, “closer than the air we breathe” as our pastor says. God longs to hear what is troubling you, what you need, and your praise and thanks for all His goodness.
In any relationship, it’s all about communication. Jesus is fully engaged at all times waiting to hear from you. No appointment needed! Invite Him into your innermost thoughts. You won’t regret it. You will be incredibly blessed by it.
Blessings on your spiritual journey!
Beyond Myself: The Farm Girl & the African Chief
I describe my journey of faith in my memoir of my love story. During the 1960s, I married my anthropology professor who was a hereditary African Chief of the Mende tribe in West Africa. This led me to visit Africa a number of times and live in his remote village for a year with our 3 boys doing lay missionary work. I certainly didn’t do things perfectly. And yet, the Lord has been so gracious in my life! I can only praise and thank Him!
