Jesus Ushers Us to the Father’s Throne
“From One Christian to Another…”
Do you realize, dear Christian, that you have a divine appointment with the God of this universe each and every day? To meet this most important person, you have only to be ushered into His Presence by His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. The Heavenly Father is waiting, longing to hear from you. He wants you to pour out your heart to Him. He wants to hear everything that’s on your mind. Of course, He already knows it. He just wants you to tell Him.
We Can Speak to Him in our Minds
Although He is in the vast reaches of time and space, He hears your every word, even those you say in your mind. He knows your every thought. He is so far away and yet so near. As the Presence of Christ dwells in your heart, He is “closer than the very air we breathe” as our pastor says. What a miracle that we are heard in such a way. God is the farthest thing from us and yet, the closest.
God Will Bring Us Through
Our great examples of prayer are the psalms. There the psalmist is brutally honest with the Lord pouring out all his feelings and struggles and yet affirming his faith that God will come through for him as He has in the past.
If you had an appointment with the president of the United States, would you ignore it? I doubt it. Then why do we ignore our daily appointment with our Father in heaven Who can do so much more for us? How dare we insult Him like that!
There’s Nothing We Can’t Bring to God
There is no problem – physical, mental, or spiritual – that we cannot bring before Him. None. He’s willing to hear it all. Once we have committed it to Him, we can rest knowing He will take care of it. Perhaps not in the way we imagine, but in the best way possible from the eternal perspective. We should probably be grateful He doesn’t answer some of our selfish, unwise prayers. And some of our prayers He answers so magnificently, we regret that we don’t pray more.
He’s Waiting to Hear
So there you have it. The God of the universe is waiting to hear from you. Will you keep that appointment of daily, even constant prayer?
Blessings on your journey of faith, anita
Beyond Myself: The Farm Girl & the African Chief
I describe my journey of faith in my memoir of my love story. During the 1960s, I married my anthropology professor who was a hereditary African Chief of the Mende tribe in West Africa. This led me to visit Africa a number of times and live in his remote village for a year with our 3 boys doing lay missionary work. I certainly didn’t do things perfectly. And yet, the Lord has been so gracious in my life! I can only praise and thank Him!
