Inconveniently Pregnant

“From One Christian to Another…”

I admire any and every woman who finds herself inconveniently pregnant and yet, gives birth to her baby – myself included.  At one point in my life, I was an unwed mother. In the course of time, the father of our child married me and we stayed together for forty and a half years before he died. I would never regret my firstborn.

Is It Only a Blob of Tissue?                                      Anita Dennis in village with woman

My granddaughter believes in abortion. She says it’s only a “blob of tissue.” And yet, her mother and father gave her life as that blob of tissue developed into a marvelous and intricate human life. Is it a blob of tissue if you don’t want your baby?   And a baby if you do? Some parents go to great lengths to have a child by all kinds of means. At the same time, countless children are disposed of. Is pregnancy two different things? Do we determine if someone gets to live based on our choices?

All Life is Given by God

I believe all life is given by God. Yes, even in the case of rape. Each life has nothing to do with how it was conceived. It is God who gives life meaning and value. Does God love us less when we are in the womb? There are options to abortion. Any and every child can be given up for adoption and given the chance to live. Every pregnancy produces a child. There are no other outcomes.

Which is It?

So what do you believe? A blob of tissue?  Or a precious life?  It makes all the difference in the world to the child you may be carrying. Be brave, dear ones. Give your child life. God will help you.

Blessings on your journey of faith and love from someone who was once in your place, anita

I describe my journey of faith in my memoir of my love story. During the 1960s, I married my anthropology professor who was a hereditary African Chief of the Mende tribe in West Africa. This led me to visit Africa a number of times and live in his remote village for a year with our 3 boys doing lay missionary work. I certainly didn’t do things perfectly. And yet, the Lord has been so gracious in my life! I can only praise and thank Him!
